چکیده

This paper describes the seismic performance of a steel frame with additional LYP dampers. dampers provides passive energy dissipation device in structure, it also reduces lateral forces efficient way which is produced by wave. The structures needed design especially countries where activities occur. analysis accomplished FEM and software called SAP2000. only analyzed using numerical simulation. two frames, first story without while second has mechanism was help nonlinear time history technique results for inter-story drift, base shear, displacement top stress obtained. taken out three different earthquake waves according to Chinese code buildings; were divided into levels China include frequent, moderate rare level. on earthquakes China. modal obtain frequency period frames. frames examined under load combination described buildings internal members axial force, shear force bending moment. combinations are used get We notice that addition increases resistance as we can observe reduction story, drift angle frame. be able behavior pushover analysis.

Seismic Response of a Platform-Frame System with Steel Columns

Timber platform-frame shear walls are characterized by high ductility and diffuse energy dissipation but limited in-plane shear resistance. A novel lightweight constructive system composed of steel columns braced with oriented strand board (OSB) panels was conceived and tested. Preliminary laboratory tests were performed to study the OSB-to-column connections with self-drilling screws. Then, th...

Performance Evaluation of Curved-TADAS Damper on Seismic Response of Moment Resisting Steel Frame

In this study, the performance of triangular added damping and stiffness (TADAS) dampers combined with curved dampers (Curved-TADAS damper) is evaluated in moment resisting steel frame (MRSF). These dampers are passive and install in the beam-column connection region. Variable parameters of this study involve the width of curved damper (50, 75 and 100 mm), the thickness of TADAS damper (5 and 1...

Effect of column-foundation connection stiffness on seismic performance of rocking steel braced frame

Residual drifts after severe earthquakes interrupt serviceability of buildings. Retrofitting of such buildings is in many cases very difficult and consumes lots of time and money. Recently, there are some attempts to develop the seismic design procedures to not only satisfy life safety criteria but also lead to more economical buildings. One of these modern methods of improving seismic performa...

Dynamic Experiment and Numerical Simulation of a Full Scale Steel Frame with Viscous Dampers

This paper presents a dynamic nonlinear numerical simulation of a 5-story full-scale steel frame structure based on Perform-3D. Flexibility-based fiber element and Maxwell model are adopted for structure member simulation after a post analysis of the shaking table test of a 4-story full-scale steel frame. The author simulates the low cyclic reciprocating load test for the steel members with fib...

Solidification and thermal performance analysis of the low carbon steel during the continuous casting process

The present paper evaluates the effect of the nozzle characteristics on the heat transfer and phase change of the low carbon steel during the continuous casting process. A three-dimensional energy equation and a solidification model are used to drive the governing equation of the phase change and temperature distribution. A linear relation is obtained to predict the temperature-dependent of the...
